Bring Balance by Connecting with Nature, Balancing the Elements and the TriGunas

The Whole World is Inside of YOU.

Do you hear me? Everything that makes up this one great universe is inside of you. The Eastern traditions/texts explain this concept through the TriGunas (3 fundamental qualities;) sattva, rajas and tamas. We’ll explore these qualities further over the coming weeks, but understand finding balance in these gunas is what creates harmony.

So when your external world is feeling out of balance, yes, go inside and balance the inner world. And when it’s the inner world feeling off, taking control of the external factors that you do have control over, will inadvertently balance out both the inner and outer worlds.

Basically, everything in this universe is made up of the 3 qualities in different ratios. The tri gunas are in perfect balance in nature (prakriti.) Why do you think you always feel better after breathing the fresh air of the countryside, walking barefoot on the beach or slipping sweetly into the salty sea?

There are a multitude of eastern practices from yoga, ayurveda, meditation etc that will assist in bringing the trigunas into equilibrium. And the simplest, most organic is to connect with nature in its purest form, the elements: earth, water, fire, air, ether (space.)

So the next time you are feeling a little off energetically, or find it difficult to juggle all the things you have to do or roles you need to play, simply step outside. Walk among the trees, feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, let the cool breeze wash over you.

Surrender.
